Motivated after a semifinal performance at Asia Cup in June 2012, the Afghanistan’s under-19 cricket team are looking to extend their impressive performance at the 2012 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. The team qualified for the event at the 2011 ICC U-19 World Cup Qualifier. Afghanistan have been placed in group be along with two time champion Pakistan, Scotland and New Zealand. The team will play Pakistan on the opening day (August 11) of the tournament at Buderim.
