Afghan U-25 leaves for Maldives

Afghanistan U-25 departed Kabul International Airport today to participate in SAARC T20 cricket games hosted by Maldives.

Eight SAARC member nations are divided into two groups to compete for the top position in this tournament to be commenced on the 1st of November.

Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Maldives and Bhutan are in group A while Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Nepal are in group B.

Bangladesh have refrained from participating in the tournament and therefore, Afghanistan have been given 2 points. Afghanistan will take on the host nation, Maldives, on the 2nd of November and their second match will be with Bhutan on the 4th of November.

Fast-bowler Hamid Hassan will lead the Afghan team and Shahzad Muhammadi will assist him as the vice captain.

 - We have got the best T20 side and have been training tough the last couple of days in the facilities provided by Nangarhar Cricket Academy, Hamid Hassan said.
