Kabul started off well and managed to make 41/1 in 7overs. Although it wasn’t an insane run rate it was enough to make the Kabuli players relax. Afterwards the crowd witnessed a more intense Kunar, which confined the next three Kabuli batsmen to a sub par 20runs altogether. After this very turbulent start, the Kabuli stars showed their true abilities and Noor-Ul-Haq helped with a solid performance taking 23runs himself and generally playing a smart game. At the 27th over Kabul had run 119 and the target seemed in sight, though the next 2wickets were lost relatively fast, the game was settled in the 29th over with Kabul taking a secure victory over Kunar.
We are now enjoying the “crème de la crème” of Afghan cricket and we are starting to get very close to the finals. The excitement awaits the Afghan population, who has witnessed some good batting throughout the tournament and some excellent bowling.
