Afghan Inter Club tournament underway

Afghanistan's maiden one-day (OD) cricket tournament called Inter Club tournament will commence in Nangarhar province on 27th of November.

Five zones namely Aamu, Band-i Amir, Bost, Mis-i Ainak and Spin Ghar will be featuring in the tournament organised by the Afghan Cricket Board and will continue until 15th of December.

A team from each of the fives zones that was created by ACB last year has been selected following a nationwide Inter Club tournament where 360 clubs from across the country participated in the one-day matches in September this year. The winner club in each zone has got a spot in the upcoming Inter Club OD tournament. The purposes of these games are to promote domestic cricket and uncover existing young talents.

The tournament will continue for 9 days. First 4 days will be played at Marko Cricket Ground and the remaining 5 matches will be played at Ghazi Amanullah Khan Cricket Stadium, both are stated in Nangarhar province, where the weather is allowing cricket in winter season as well.

unfortunately Afghanistan haven't got enough facilities around them on cricket wise because it is a war hit country from very long time , so they need to be more diligent and they have to work hard twice as the other countries cricketers do. Afghani cricket fans have so much hope on their players as they will be participating in next year's T20 world championship trophy. this time they should at least try to claim their first ever international victory. they should break the barrier of losing matches and this can only be done when these talented players can be provided with proper training like the other countries have in their bags.
